About Us
We’re here to help social leaders make a bigger difference. Whether your charity or social enterprise is big, small or somewhere in between, we offer the time and space for leaders to plug-in and re-energise.

Our network offers you space to reflect on your current work and strategies, make connections and learn something new. We'll link you to a fresh new group of peers, people who are going through (or maybe have already been through) similar opportunities and challenges to the ones you're facing. We want to introduce you to people that can offer not just practical, but moral support along the way.

Being a leader in any sector can be stressful, but in times of significant financial cuts, workforce challenges and growing need, being a social leader is a hard path. In fact, it can risk both the health and happiness of people in these roles. Our work with social leaders not only makes them better at their day jobs but helps them enjoy their work more, making your job feel compatible with a good, balanced and emotionally fulfilling life.

Our Story

Social Club was founded in 2016 by Craig Dearden-Phillips, who had one conversation too many with other ‘social’ CEOs. He was hearing a common theme, people were feeling lonely, stale and unconnected. Born as a dining club in London, its first meeting was in what was then known as the House of St Barnabas. It soon got too big for that and we launched as Social Club the following year.

What makes Social Club different to other ‘leadership clubs’:

-
We’re here for those who work in organisations with social purpose only.

-
We’re not about one sector or one type of organisation, members of Social Club have come from a range of sectors – health, care, youth and community sectors, some come from charities, others from social businesses and private venture

-
We’re not ‘big national organisation’ or London centric- we want a real UK wide feel. Most of our Members come from medium sized organisations rather than the large charity brands.

-
We’re about what we can learn, not what we already know. Egos (if they exist) are left at the door.
